    Maybe one of the best Lovecraft adaptations ever. This is paced and structured just like the original author's story. It's a drawn out disturbing slide into the cosmic horror you imagine while reading Lovecraft. If there's a similar movie from recent history it's probably Mandy which also starred Nic Cage. There's far less gore here and the life of this family before the meteor drops is oddly angelic though obviously flawed which ends up being magnified by the entity that impacts their farm and their lives. The director =intends on making a trilogy of related films and I'm excited to see his next chapter.

    The name is somewhat of a misdirect very little of the marriage is shown here, just the end of it. Inspired by the writer's own experience ending a marriage that on it's face was completely his fault. The story on screen is not as simple and pretty much a Rorschach test on what the viewer brings to the story. Some will say Scarlett's character made the process worse some will say Driver's action or lack of were the main problem.…
